The short version

Your typing test results, history, preferences and any custom text are stored only in your own browser (local storage). We do not have accounts and we do not receive what you type. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, and Google AdSense to show ads that keep the site free.

Information stored on your device

TypingCheck saves your recent results, personal bests, test settings, theme and custom practice text in your browser's local storage so they are there next time. You can delete them at any time by clearing your browser's site data for typingcheck.com.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to collect aggregated information such as pages viewed, approximate location (country or city), device type and when a test is completed. This helps us improve the site. Google's use of this data is described in its privacy policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Advertising and cookies

We show ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google's Ads Settings, or visit aboutads.info to opt out of some third-party vendors' cookies. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland see Google's consent message first; until you choose, ads are limited to non-personalized ads and analytics cookies are not set. You can change your choice at any time from the "Privacy and cookie settings" link that Google's consent tool adds to the page.

Server logs

Like most websites, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and the time of a request, for security and reliability.

Children

TypingCheck does not ask for or knowingly collect personal information from children. The tests work without any personal information.

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
